Everything you need to know before you roll.

How to Play: Quickstart Rules

Scan the table card anytime to return here. Here are the core mechanics to get your game rolling:

1. The Goal

Move all 15 checkers into your Home Board (points 1–6) and remove (bear) them off. First to clear all wins.

2. Movement

The Roll: Move 1 checker the sum, or 2 checkers the individual numbers.
Direction: Players travel in opposite directions.
Blocked: You cannot land on a point held by 2+ opponent checkers.
Doubles: Roll matching dice (e.g., 4-4) to play that number 4 times.

3. Hitting (The Bar)

Blots: A single checker sitting alone on a point is vulnerable.
Hitting: Opponent lands on your blot, sending it to the center Bar.
Bar Lock: You must roll to re-enter your opponent’s home board before moving any other checkers.

4. Bearing Off

Once all 15 checkers are inside your Home Board, roll matching numbers to remove them from the board. First to clear all 15 wins.

I don't know how to play. Can I still come?

Absolutely. We have dedicated video lessons from Grandmaster Marc Olsen at every table which can be scanned via QR code. In addition, our hosts will sit down with you, explain the board, the mechanics, and basic strategy.

Should I bring my own backgammon board?

Leave it at home. We provide matching, premium tournament-grade boards for every single table. Just bring yourself and be ready to play.

Is this a dating or singles event?

Not at all. While you will absolutely meet new people and socialize, our focus is strictly on the game and building a chic, welcoming community. All ages, couples, and individuals are welcome.
